A head-strong paper pupil and his soft-spoken sensei must align to overcome their greatest enemy—scissors.
Paper Warriors is a 3D animated short film produced by UCF's Character Animation 2025 Cohort. Among our 13 group cohort, I co-led Production Management, Environment Lead & Technical Direction, and acted as the sole Lighting Lead. I worked to create streamlined pipelines for our production and addressed project scope issues. I also created lighting keys and documentation to keep the film's look consistent. Paper Warriors' lighting and environment required substantial research and development in order to maintain an efficient and accurate look.
Notable Responsibilities: Giant Cliff Set Piece (Design, Model, Texture & Surfacing), Ground Plane (Designs & Models), Houdini Paper Ripping FX, Lighting Color Keys
The Cliff & Ground Plane
CLIFF SET PIECE
DESIGN & TEXTURE
The Cliff is a significant set piece for the second half of the film. Designed after stiff cliffs and rocks in Japan and Canada- Paper Warriors’ goal was to create rocks that stylistically meshed with our Paper environment. I worked closely with Art Directors Marcus Urbenz and Emily Lao to create a design that best fit the film.
